About IBEX

The "IBEX" Consortium

(Industrial and Building Energy eXpertise)

Centennial College and a consortium of experienced industry practitioners came together to develop and offer this program designed to train and provide Ontario industrial and commercial building facilities with knowledgeable energy managers that can identify energy savings and cost savings opportunities. It pairs rigorous academic learning with actual energy projects that can include energy audits, renewable energy assessments and other energy related projects to initiate and implement successful energy management practices with new or existing personnel.

The pilot IBEX program was partially funded by the Ontario Power Authority. While the pilot program is over, the course continues under the management of Sustainable Resources Management, one of the course developers and mentors. IBEX provides both energy users and energy management staff the skills and knowledge of the Green Energy Act and the various incentive programs to access the funds for both training and the retrofit measures.

The project team includes several organizations who bring unique capability to enhance delivery of the Industrial and Building Energy eXpertise (IBEX) training program.
